The Website Checklist for Contractors and Home Services
What plumbers, electricians, roofers and landscapers need on the page to win the call.
Home services customers are usually in a hurry, sometimes in an emergency, and almost always calling more than one company. Your website's only job is to be the easiest and most reassuring option in that moment.
Lead with the service and the area: what you fix, and the towns you cover. A visitor twenty miles away should know in seconds whether to bother calling, and a neighbor should feel like you are the local option.
Make emergency and after-hours availability explicit if you offer it. This is the single most searched detail in home services and it deserves its own line near the top, not a footnote.
Show licensing, insurance, and how long you have been in business. Then show work: before and after photos of real jobs beat any stock image of a smiling technician. If you offer free estimates, say so in the button itself.
Answer the money question honestly. You do not need a full price list, but a range, a service call fee, or an explanation of how you quote removes the biggest reason people hesitate to dial.
Finally, make contact effortless — a tap-to-call button that follows the visitor down the page, a short quote form that asks for name, phone, and the problem, and nothing else. Long forms are where home services leads go to die.
